Vibrant and fruit dominant, the nose of this terrific young Cabernet offers focused aromas of black raspberry, mulberry, cassis and sour dark cherry which rise above savory counterpoints of licorice root, coffee bean, mocha, toffee, hazelnut nougat and sweet tobacco. The wine’s youth is more evident on the palate, where tannins and bright zest firm the juicy-rich flavors that are a more firmer and youthfully coiled mirror of the nose. Those flavors linger impressively and display a near ideal dinner balance, yet the wines full expression may be five years away. It should be a stunner by then. 250 cases produced.
